KnewCo has a very similar product called Concept Web Linker. It identifies concepts and adds the ability to link to related information. The semantic analysis happens automatically and can be overlayed onto any website.
Besides the obvious added value that this brings, an Outsell report a few weeks ago suggested that KnewCo and this type of technology may have cracked how to advertise on scholarly content. For example, if a disease or chemical product is "linked," you could easily be re-directed to a website for a pharmaceutical product.
Is ChemSpider the first out there or are there more of these experiments surfacing?
